This event will be held sometime in October.
Every year the LPFF in coordination with the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Prevention Bureau, host a Fire Safety Expo and Pancake Breakfast. The event is free to the public and occurs during Fire Prevention Week, the second week of October.
Fire Prevention Week was established to commemorate the Great Chicago Fire, the tragic 1871 conflagration that killed more than 250 people, left 100,000 homeless, destroyed more than 17,400 structures and burned more than 2,000 acres. The fire began on October 8, but continued into and did most of its damage on October 9, 1871. The Annual Fire Safety Expo was created to help increase public awareness during Fire Prevention Week and to help raise money for the LPFF. It truly is a day of fun and learning for the whole family. The event kicks off with a free pancake breakfast hosted by the LPFF and members of the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Dept. Following the breakfast attendees have many fire safety booths to visit, live demonstrations from firefighters, police K9 units, and a kid’s obstacle course. Finishing up the day’s activities the LPFF hosts a raffle drawing for many great prizes.
Each year our Fire Safety Expo has exceeded our expectations with attendance. It is a great event for the whole family to learn about fire safety and mingle with your local fire department. All proceeds go to the Livermore-Pleasanton Firefighters Foundation.
